December 20, 2006 at 2:19 pm #1443AnonymousInactiveHi BB Have you made 1.4 zoom out more As I seem to be able to get more of my BT track on the screen. If not It must just be me not noticing, maybe my eyes have got wider at the excitment of all the new things.
Thanks Dave
December 20, 2006 at 2:48 pm #1444AnonymousInactiveHi Don and everyone. I thought we all got involved in RTR because we find it fun to develop, share and play. So can’t we just lighten up a bit
😉 I have tried 3D modelling and even paid money for software but I can’t do it. It frustrates me so I stopped trying. I am happy to share any layouts I make if I think they are good enough but then I get a great deal of fun making them in the first place. I have already posted thanks to Brainbom and Willi for their wonderful additions. Sorry Chris I forgot to say thanks to you😳 and any other contributors.A very happy Christmas to all forum members and guests.

(a) There’s no abutment_L or abutment_R! What program do you use?
(b) What’s about pressing the P key for pause?
(c) And what’s about reading the manual before asking such a trash?
Willi
Hi Willi and anyone else who reads this post,
(a) I called out the wrong parts.
😳 I should have asked is there a difference betweenConcrete1_land Concrete1_rother than being turned 180 degrees? Same question for Stonewall1_land Stonewall1_r? Is there a difference? (b) Thanks for telling me where the Pause key was. I was looking for a button to click. The P key is better (you don’t have to move the mouse). I also tried the key on my keyboard that’s called “Pause”, and that didn’t work. Now I know.
(c) And where do I find the manual? The only thing in the new 1.4 package that remotely resembled something I (a person) should read was a txt file called ver14.txt. All it did was list the new and improved functions. There was a tutorial file that I got when I registered for the product. It is a very good document. I can’t find that it’s been updated since I got it months ago. I’ve never seen an actually manual. What am I missing?
I guess (a) and (c) still need attention…….
Love, Roger
😉 December 20, 2006 at 3:51 pm #1446AnonymousInactiveHi all, Pete has the right idea, this *is* a game/simulation and we should be having fun with it and keeping things light.
I wish everyone in the RtR community happy holidays and thanks to all for the contributions they have made and, hopefully, will continue to make.
Best regards, Chris
December 20, 2006 at 4:03 pm #1447AnonymousInactiveHi to all, Why we dont open a yelling edge in this Forum as in Willi´s. That helps many Members here to releasing steam. Willi´s effort to improve the functionality of RTR was really great.
But only few members saw “Welcome to forum” to Willi. Too few 👿 I´m writing this to have futureversions of RTR.I say
All Members have to bring in their ideas and not only few!!!❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ I say ALL !!!Unger,Thanx for your wishes and i send back my wishes to you and all other active members as Dave,Willi,Chris,Gov,Roger,Don,Reg,Smokey,Maury and so many more.
December 20, 2006 at 4:04 pm #1448AnonymousInactiveHi Roger The manual can be found in the all programs list in RTR folder or directly in the RtR folder in the docu folder in C drive or were ever you installed RTR. I did read the manual for 1.3 and found out somthing I did not know about the platform button in track build system it has 2 functions and the 1 I did not know about is the track leveling function I would not be with out it. As to ? (a) I think they are the same. Keep tracking

Hi Dave,
I found the manual exactly where you said to look. I had ignored the Docu folder in my prior search.
😳 I read about pause (way at the end of the manual), instructions on how to use the turntable, and how to change the height of objects (with the CTRL key). I had read forum posts that talked about stacking objects but didn’t know how to do it. Now I do.Thanks for the pointer.

December 21, 2006 at 9:50 pm #1453AnonymousInactiveHi Roger I know we never do read manuals it’s a man thing. But it does help somtimes.
Hi Chris
Glad you like my track one day it will be finished. The one I sent is now out of date. I was reading what Peter said about event counters in Willis forum and had a go at one. Every 3rd time a train comes to a platform it then goes up a siding and another train comes out of a siding back to the platform.
Thanks Dave
December 23, 2006 at 5:15 pm #1454AnonymousInactiveHi Roger, As for a): See what I had written here
https://www.brainbombers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=378&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 ” class=”bbcode_url”> https://www.brainbombers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=378&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 Quote:The stone retaining walls are finished, too. Here the model origin had to be put even more in front of the model and they are built deeper than in reality so you can suit them to the landscape.
That’s the reason, why there’s a left, middle and right part of the retaining walls.
And as for turnout covers:
https://www.brainbombers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=370&start=60 ” class=”bbcode_url”> https://www.brainbombers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=370&start=60 Quote:In the new Layout Viewer you can select the desired track:
– RTR original (but without turnout cover)
– Brown (with turnout cover)
– Bright (with turnout cover)
Or in more detail in the Layout Viewer 2.0 manual:
Quote:With extension pack 11 there come turnout covers, I had made, that can simply be placed above the turnouts. They give turnouts a more realistic look, turnout/switch motors included. If the track style is changed here, the textures for the turnout covers are automatically changed, too. That’s true for my bridges as well, as far as they have a track bed. If you select the standard track, the turnout cover is made invisible, as there is no texture for that.
For that the files Layoutviewer/lvfiles/transparent.dds or Layoutviewer/lvfiles/turnout2wl.dds or Layoutviewer/lvfiles/turnout3wl.dds are copied to Scenes/001haz/turnouttex.dds for the turnout covers. And the textures Layoutviewer/lvfiles/gravel0.dds or Layoutviewer/lvfiles/gravel2.dds or Layoutviewer/lvfiles/gravel3.dds are copied to Scenes/001haz/gravel.dds for the bridge track beds.
Btw, the turntable also uses the texture objects/bitmaps/track3.dds, so the rail profiles of the turntable always match the selected track style.
Regards,
Willi

December 28, 2006 at 5:32 am #1456AnonymousInactiveHappy Holidays to everyone. Hi Willi. When I finally had time over Christmas to spend some time with RtR I was more than jazzed to find a new upgrade and a new extension pack. What a great surprise! The new objects are fantastic! A big thanks to Brainbom, Chris, Dave, Mike, Willi, and the rest of you who contribute to Rule The Rail. -
