Not really a question here, just introducing myself. I’m fairly new to the world of model RR so if my terms I use are out-of-place just ignore it and chalk it up to ignorance.
I had a small N-scale set-up a few years ago, it was just a simple loop with a side track. I made all my scenery out of scrap packaging foam from the motorpool, wasn’t anything fancy or expensive but it was enough to get me hooked on model RRs.
I just signed up for the forum today, but been registered on RTR and IH now for a couple of weeks. I’ve made some small shunting yards and such. I don’t have any place to post them to for download yet. I haven’t made a full model RR yet, just small test tracks and what not. Hopefully I’ll get around to doing a full-blown model layout, but if like everything else, I usually get past the most difficult parts, lose interest, and start another layout hehe.
Edit – Forgot to say Thanks to the folks at BrainBombers and the users that have contributed both to the Extension packs and on the forums.

If there are some interesting technical demos you have made with your shunting yards and so on, you can send it to me to publish it for download on my “Technik-Demos” website:

Kind regards,

As I think most of us that use this forum regularly most of us got started with building scale model railroads in our basements spare rooms and backyards as kids, some of us work in the reallife on major railroads around the world. As you have seen and will learn that you can build major layouts without the major financial output as you would with a real scale model.
One thing that this allows you to do is create a layout within the program then transfer them to actual scale layouts quickly and without the stress of building it in real life just to find out you do not like the way that it is running.
I look forward to helping you with the program and I look forward to seeing your layouts.
Once again welcome to RTR and the forum.
Happy Railroading
