InactiveHi Peter, I really didn’t skin the interior of the boxcar. I just arranged a work scene with some thought to scale (elevated so I could get a more horizontal angle), took a screen shot, then cut and pasted it into the ‘interior’ of the car. I then trimmed the excess image.
Quite simple, actually.

Maybe
😉 , but first you must have the idea. And second, it must be done so great like you did!
It looks really fantastic. Thanks very much, Chris.
Btw, most of you surely know that in most games and simulations the backsides of polygons are not rendered for better performance. So Chris really found a great way to create a “opened” box car!
Kind regards,
Willi

InactiveHi Dave, Thanks! I’ve gone to the trouble of making template layers that speed the general process of making these textures for RtR. As is usually the case, the devil is in the details and that’s where I spend most of the time now.

InactiveIf the Nickel Plate had had SD38’s, they may have been painted something like this (modeled after a GP30). September 25, 2006 at 2:52 pm #735Anonymous

InactiveHi Peter, Thanks!
The process is a bit of reverse engineering in that I don’t have access to the model or any texture mapping until it’s formally released in an extension pack. I’ll have to clean up the original dds file then begin using it for adding new candidate textures.
I presume the F3A and B Rob showed us will be released in pack 9.
Regards, Chris
