I have just laid out a plan of all the wagons, and it looks very impressive.

I have not counted them yet.

I did notice when driving round the wagons that we have not got a long flat bed, in England we transport rails on them, we have goods08 but needs to be stretched.

    Hi All

That would be good. I would also like to have a Brake van (Guard van). Maybe the model goods01 could have some one do a texture, if it is possable. I have a few links to show what I mean.

    Hi Mark,

I had previously brought over an IH caboose and retextured it into something resembling an ATSF caboose:

I just reviewed the dds file and saw that there are actually three caboose textures on it. Do you have a preference for a caboose?

I’ll pass it along to Brainbom for their consideration.

By the way, if the caboose falls under the locomotive category rather than wagons it can be assigned an engine ID. This would allow us to use the caboose to mark the end of a consist; something useful for reopening crossing gates, block signals, etc.

    Hi Chris,

The caboose You have pictured is a thing of beauty.

As for putting it in the locy catagory, that’s pretty darned clever!

It seems like that would eliminate some timing issues, as well as

open up some new possibilities. Like maybe signaling another train

that it’s okay to pull back onto the main line from a siding.

    Good thinking!

    Thanks

    Hi Mark,

I’m glad you like the texture on that IH caboose.

As I mentioned, the texture file actually contains textures for three cabooses. I only used one for the ATSF caboose (pictured). Do you have a preference for the second; say Boston and Maine?

I might as well texture the second and third cabooses before sending the files to Brainbom.

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks.

I “borrowed” the caboose 3D model from Iron Horses. I did change the texture though.

Here’s the second texture of three available.

Anyone have a request for the third?

Chris, I don’t know much about caboose but a wood planked one would look good.

    Hi Reg,

I’ll see what I can find. The two I’ve textured weren’t planked.

Everything that I’ve seen is of a steel welded construction.

    hi Chirs

I now it’s not American but do you think that a goods01 model could be used to make somthing like this.

    Hi Dave,

I think it would have to be done completely from scratch with a new 3D model as well as texture.

I think it can be done – I came up with the following in AC3D

but I really don’t know how to progress from this point – couplers, bumpers, displaying the trucks, etc. I would need other views of the brake van, too.

I’ll ask Brainbom if they have any guidance they can provide (but you know their time is extremely limited).

    Regards, Chris
