Hi all, Here’s my first static model submission – a grain elevator.
Note: I’ve reworked the door and door runner by adding bevels to provide the illusion of depth.
Best regards, Chris
December 30, 2006 at 8:50 am #1538AnonymousInactiveHi Chris, Wow, that grain elevator looks great! The only thing that could be improved, is the door. In my opinion it looks too flat and has too much contrast with that full black and white.
And I see a very interesting object in the background. It seems to be a loading tipple of a mining company you’re working on?
😉 Keep on with your great work.
Best regards,
Willi
December 30, 2006 at 9:04 am #1539AnonymousInactiveHi Willi, Thanks for the advice and your encouragement. I’ll try to address those points.
Thanks again for that tutorial on model construction in your forum. I’ll forward my self-tutorial to you again after I get more comfortable with the process and finalize the documentation.
Yes, you’re right; that’s a tipple I’m struggling with in the background.
Best regards, Chris

December 30, 2006 at 6:04 pm #1542AnonymousInactiveHi all, Thanks! I know it’s not very well done so I’ll keep refining it as I gain more experience.
Happy New Year to all, Chris
December 31, 2006 at 9:04 am #1543AnonymousInactiveAnother effort – a farm market building one might find roadside selling fresh produce directly from the farm. December 31, 2006 at 11:35 am #1544AnonymousInactiveHi Chris, this is the right way to earn experience. It´s look from model to model better.
What program are you using ? December 31, 2006 at 11:42 am #1545AnonymousInactiveHi Peter, Thanks.
I’m using AC3D in conjunction with fragMOTION as Willi had suggested. I’m preparing the textures with Photoshop.
Best regards, Chris

January 1, 2007 at 9:42 am #1548AnonymousInactiveHi Dave, Just let me know. I know that Biggs had mentioned something about a railway station add-on as well. I’ll have to get back with him to get a better idea of what he’s interested in.
I’m still working on technique between modeling and texturing. It’s a bit of a chore but it will improve with time (as well as the modeling/texturing).
Happy New Year, Chris
